Schizophrenia and Psychotic Spectrum Disorders
The Mental Health World Conference (MHWC 2026) will feature a session dedicated to the most recent advancements in the diagnosis and management of psychotic disorders and schizophrenia. Reputable neuroscientists, clinical psychologists, and psychiatrists will discuss new pharmacologic treatments, treatment-resistant schizophrenia, recovery-based frameworks, and early intervention strategies. Additionally, presentations will highlight the roles that community mental health and social work professionals play in delivering integrative care.
One of the key sessions at MHWC 2026 will be focused on Schizophrenia and Psychotic Spectrum Disorders. It will be devoted to discussing new findings and recent trends in neurobiology, diagnostics, and treatment of psychiatric disorders associated with psychotic spectrum disorders. Not only neurologists but also leading neuroscientists, psychiatrists, and psychologists will attend the conference and discuss the latest advances in understanding of brain functioning in patients with psychotic disorders. Special attention will be paid to the early detection of prodromal symptoms, as early intervention has been shown to improve patient outcomes.
Innovation in treatments of schizophrenic patients is another important theme of the session that will include a discussion of various aspects of schizophrenia treatment, including new generations of antipsychotics and alternative pharmacotherapy of schizophrenia. The issue of treatment resistance will receive special attention, given that the majority of patients have a poor response to standard treatments. At the same time, innovative psychosocial and rehabilitation techniques will be discussed as one of the most promising ways to improve the quality of life of schizophrenic patients.
