Sumbal Gilani is a clinical psychologist and global mental health systems specialist with over a decade of experience across government and United Nations. Following her early work in trauma rehabilitation after the APS Peshawar school attack, she has led the design and implementation of Pakistan’s first integrated MHPSS initiative. Her work spans policy and systems strengthening roles with Planning Commission of Pakistan, WHO, and UNICEF, focusing on integrating mental health into health and social protection systems. A Global Mental Health Fellow (Duke NUS, Singapore) and Affiliate at the University of Glasgow, she specializes in translating evidence into scalable policy and practice.
